The Resident Experts
Dr. Wison Mugizi (PhD)
Dr. Wilson Mugizi holds a PhD and a Master's in Educational Management, plus a Bachelor's in Arts with Education from Makerere University. He has served in key academic and research leadership roles at Kyambogo University and Kampala International University-Western Campus, including postgraduate coordination and participation in various university committees.
He has led and contributed to numerous research projects, consultancy assignments, and policy-driven studies in collaboration with institutions like UNDP, World Vision Uganda, and Sida. He has supervised several Master’s and PhD students and serves as an external examiner for universities such as Makerere University, Kabale University, Ndejje University, and Mountains of the Moon University. "
Dr. Mugizi has authored over 65 journal articles, book chapters, and other scholarly publications on pedagogy, higher education, and technology in education. As a researcher, editor, and reviewer, he is highly skilled in quantitative research and proficient in various statistical analysis tools.
David Twinomugisha
David Twinomugisha is a seasoned research and data analytics expert with extensive experience in economic research, data analysis, and project evaluation across multiple sectors. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Agricultural and Applied Economics at Makerere University and serves as a Budget Officer at Bank of Uganda and Data Analyst at Ace Policy Research Institute (APRI).
He holds a Master of Arts in Economic Policy and Planning and a Bachelor of Science in Business Statistics, both from Makerere University, along with specialized training from Kansas State University (USA) and the World Bank’s Manage Successful Field Research Course (MSFR).
David has worked with Bank of Uganda, APRI, NARO, IFPRI, WFP, UBOS, EPRC, IITA, TMEA, KOICA, IOM, Marie Stopes Uganda, TechnoServe, MAAIF, Abi-Trust Initiative, and GRIPS, among others. His expertise spans economic policy analysis, statistical modeling, impact assessment, and budget monitoring.
Proficient in SPSS, Stata, E-Views, CSPro, ODK, and advanced Microsoft Excel, he applies cutting-edge research methodologies to inform policy and development initiatives across Uganda and beyond.
Apollo Mugumya
Apollo Mugumya is a Research Operations and Field Management Specialist with over 10 years of experience leading large-scale research projects across Uganda. He specializes in field logistics, team coordination, and data collection, with expertise in both qualitative and quantitative methodologies and financial management for research projects.
He has worked with leading institutions, including International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), Economic Policy Research Center (EPRC), International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), Ministry of Finance (PROFILA), BDO East Africa, Ministry of Health (Care Link Uganda), Makerere University, Ministry of Agriculture, International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), Stromme Microfinance East Africa, and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, among others.
Proficient in digital data collection tools (Interviewer, ODK, SurveyCTO, CS-Pro), Apollo ensures data quality, field compliance, and efficient research execution, contributing to evidence-based decision-making in Uganda’s development sector.
Rashid Ahimbisibwe
Rashid Ahimbisibwe is a Social Science Research Expert with over 8 years of experience in qualitative and quantitative research, program design, and strategic planning. He has specialized expertise in value chain analysis, educational research, and policy studies, with a strong track record in training researchers, government officials, and stakeholders in experimental and educational research methodologies.
He holds a Master of Education in Policy, Planning, and Management (Kyambogo University), a Master of Management Studies in Monitoring & Evaluation (Uganda Management Institute), and additional qualifications in Education, Social Sciences, and M&E from Makerere University and UMI.
Rashid has worked with Ace Policy Research Institute (APRI), Economic Policy Research Center (EPRC), Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), Uganda Catholic Medical Bureau (UCMB), Uganda Development Corporation, Afro Kai Limited, FAO, and NAADS, among others.
His expertise spans research design, program management, stakeholder engagement, policy analysis, and monitoring & evaluation. Proficient in qualitative and quantitative research tools, project management, educational assessment, and value chain mapping, Rashid contributes to evidence-based policy and development initiatives in Uganda and beyond.
